Rhett turned eight today, Tuesday, January 5th. He's very excited to get baptized on February 6th, and talks about it often. He has learned and grown so much since that day we nervously went to pick him up at LDS Family Services. It's amazing he survived our newness to the parenting thing, but he has (so far). He's a great brother and son, and we're so thankful he's part of our family.
He woke up early today, along with Soleil, and needless to say, Mom and Dad didn't sleep much longer. Angie had blown up some helium filled balloons, as she always does for the kids birthday, and made Rhett his choice of breakfasts: Pancakes and bacon! Rhett got a Star Wars themed lego set, two rockets (heaven help us, because they are real!), and a new watch. The unwrapping of the presents reminded me of the movie "Christmas Story."
