Rhett's Baptism

We had the wonderful experience of baptizing Rhett today. Many family members and friends joined with us at the Palo Verde chapel in Henderson, NV for this big event in his life. I (Jan) had the honor of baptizing him and confirming him. I also got to give the talk on baptism in the service prior to the ordinances taking place. A few of the things I spoke about were how baptism is symbolic, the covenants we make at baptism, and how those who Alma baptized in the Book of Mormon valued the opportunity to be baptized.

As we walked down into the water, Rhett turned to me and whispered that it was pretty hot. I said it was just right, like a bathtub. But he thought it was a little toasty. Oh well, better than the alternative right?

Family members who were able to be present were Mom and Stan, Debi and Jim's family, Ryan and Roshell's family from St. George, and Trent's family. Many others wanted to be there but were unable to be for various reasons. We were grateful for their well wishes, however. We also had many friends come and support Rhett, including Sister Barros, Sister and Zachary Whittacre, Sister Kowalski, The Duck and McCandless families, and Bishop Bennion.
