Disney World Trip - Day 2

Waffle House
Day 2 of our trip began with a little sleeping in.  Actually, we didn't get up too late if on NV time, but in the eastern time zone, it was about 8:30 or 9:00 am.  We got ready for the day, and then went over to the Waffle House, a small breakfast place the kids had spotted when we had gone to the mall the night before.  All of them were very excited to have breakfast there the next morning.  The place was only about as big as a single-wide trailer, but it was packed.  There were clearly quite a few dedicated locals there.  We finally got a table, and had a nice breakfast with good, friendly service.

The Kids Playing in
the Gulf of Mexico
Ang had really wanted to hit a beach, though with the weather threatening, I was not really in to it.  However, I didn't want to leave and regret not having done it, so decided to give it a try.  We headed across the bridge/causeway which leads from Tampa to the St. Petersburg peninsula, with me driving, the kids watching both sides of the road for shark fins (they swore they saw many), and Ang trying to look up a good, family beach on my phone.  She finally found what looked like a good one.  It was located clear down off the tip of the peninsula:  De Soto Beach.  Turned out to be a great call.  While the weather had warned of rip tides, the water seemed pretty good.  The waves were just big enough that the kids had a good time romping in them, but not dangerous.  We ended up spending about 2 hours there, and had a great time.

Star Island Registration
Finally, we began the drive back up toward Tampa, and on up toward Orlando, where we had our time share booked for a week.  We were happy to finally get there, and were very excited about the room.  We had booked both sides of a 2-unit suite, and it turned out to be huge.  There were three bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a large living room (which also had a fold out queen) and a full kitchen.  It was easy to loose someone in there.  We quickly got settled, did a little swimming, and wrapped the night up lounging around the front room watching--what else--Disney channel.  If we weren't at Disney World, we were watching ANT Farm, Good Luck Charlie, or Jesse.  Talk about saturation (but we enjoyed it all).

Finally, we made a "quick" run to Wal-mart to stock up the kitchen so that we wouldn't have to spend too much time in restaurants.  You'd have thought it was Christmas!!  Ang and I hadn't seen much residential development in the area, but we had  seen plenty of condos, resorts, time shares, etc...  Effectively, people buying up what they needed for a week.  We were back there a few more times and found it busy each time.  I'll bet that is the busiest Wal-mart in the world.
