Day three of our trip began with Disney Hollywood Studios. We all got up really early because we wanted to be the first ones in line. This weekend was Star Wars weekend. Our kids all love Star Wars and on this weekend they have people dressed up as Star Wars characters in the park and a lot of Star Wars themed activities going on. The first ride we hit was Star Tours, knowing it was a very busy ride, and that the wait would be very long very soon.
The kids loved this ride. It's a 3-D experience, and the movie changes every time you ride, so you can ride it many times and never have the same experience twice. This was one where we definitely used our fast pass.
We also had a great time at the Indiana Jones stunt spectacular, where Indiana Jones movie scenes are reenacted.
Another highlight, or lowlight if you ask Rhett, was the Hollywood Tower of Terror. For that matter, Jesse and Soleil didn't like it much either. The anticipation, as you go through the old hotel, can be a little unnerving for somebody quite young. On the actual ride, Soleil was completely caught off guard by the first drop. Not so on number two. She screamed all the way down. After the fourth and final drop, she turned to me and asked, "daddy are we done? "When I assured her that we were, she exclaimed, "I'm terrified!" It was absolutely hilarious.
Next we went to the Rock and Roller Coaster, which is a roller coaster themed with Aerosmith. Unfortunately Soleil was not quite tall enough to ride, so she and Ang went to the Little Mermaid ride while the boys and I rode the roller coaster. We both had a lot of fun. We wrapped the day watching a stunt car show. The cars raced around, not crashing into each other, but coming very close, doing jumps backwards, and many other spectacular things.
Finally, and none too soon, we called it a day. It had been very hot all day and very humid, about 96%. We were all completely worn out, but Rhett a little more than the rest of us. He ended up very sick that night. We think he had heatstroke, but don't really know for sure. As a result, we ended up sleeping in the next day, trying to get rehydrated, and going to Gatorland Monday afternoon.
