Appendicitis!

In the ER at St. Rose Sienna Just Prior to Appendectomy
Shortly after returning from vacation, I got a few more days off--not the kind you want.  I began feeling ill on the way home from work on Wed 8/11.  After it hadn't gotten better by noon the following day, and after a horror story from a coworker about a family member with appendicitis, I decided to get it checked out.  To make a long story short, I ended up at my Dr.'s office at 1:00, getting an MRI at 4:30, checking into the ER at 5:15, and entering the OR at 7:00.  The surgery went well and quick, and I began coming out from under the anesthetic at about 8:30.  Because the hospital was so full, I actually was put in the end of a hallway with four other patients with only curtains separating us (but this was okay).  Better than not having anywhere to go.

Now, about a week and a half after the surgery, I am feeling well, having been back to work for about a week, but still have realized a few times (the hard way) that I need to take it easy no matter how good I think I feel.
