State Questions...
At night when we put the kids to bed, we'll lay down with them for a little while and do "questions." Sometimes it's having them spell words, sometimes it's math, and lately, it has been "state" questions (U.S. geography). We ask them things like, "What state is known for it's apples (WA), what state is known for its corn production (NE), what is the capital of Texas," etc.... They've gotten so they know the states' capitals as well as a key piece of information or two about them. Well, apparently we need to work with Soleil a little more on what Colorado is known for. I actually don't know what it is officially known for, but I assume it is skiing. However, I asked Soleil the other day just to see what she'd say. At first, it was, "Hmmm, well Dad, I don't really know." Then, she continued, "I think it's known for its cupcakes." Now, I said I didn't know the answer when I asked the question, but I'm pretty sure Colorado isn't known for its cupcakes.
