Jesse's Field Day at School
Jesse recently had his field day at school. That is the day where the kids get to spend the entire school day outside. Parents were encouraged to go, so I took the morning off and went. The Smalley staff had it really well-organized, with older kids in the school manning the stations and helping to ensure that the younger kids (this field day was for Kindergartners only) had a great time. They had hula hooping, jump roping, popsicles (Jesse's favorite station), relay races, and bubble blowing.
After all of the fun was done, we sat down on the playground and ate a picnic lunch which Ang had dropped off to us. Jesse was really hungry. Ang, much to my chagrin, had only packed him half a sandwich. He quickly ate that, and then unceremoniously reached over and commandeered the second half of my sandwich before I could get to it. He ate most of that, and then kindly returned the remains to me telling me that I could finish the rest. So thoughtful! Then he wanted to play on the playground with his friends, so we hung around a little longer. It was a blast, and I am so glad I got to do it.
