Take Your Kids to Work Day

Last Thursday was take your kids to work day.  The kids had been looking forward to it for a long time, as had I.  Rhett and Soleil went up with me first thing in the morning, with Ang planning on bringing Jesse in later on and swapping out (didn't dare try to manage them all at once).

Soleil was immediately impressed with the security when we got to the employee entrance door, and I had to punch in the "secret code," as she called it.  She thought that was cool.  We had gotten there a little early, so I was able to get them settled prior to any one else getting there.  They got busy coloring me pictures, as I need lots of them for my office.

Then, the man of the hour, my boss, Tom, arrived.  This requires a little background.  Right after I started, I brought Rhett to work with me for take your kid to work day, and Tom gave him all kinds of treats (Ding Dongs, etc...).  Then, Jesse and Soleil came up with me on another occasion and he gave them Ding Dongs.  Jesse in particular LOVED those Ding.  Ever since then, he has often told me as I am heading off to work, "Tell him to send home Ding Dongs." (Him = Tom).  Soleil refers to Tom as Baker Tom.  I have a little phone card which lists the phone numbers for the people in my dept.  People are listed last name first, so when Soleil read it, she read Baker Tom, and is certain that is what his name is.  They were excited to see him, and true to form, he had the best Hostess had to offer.

Later on, Jesse came in.  He was a little less patient with the whole thing (though the treats helped), so I had Ang come back just an hour later.  Then, we all went out to CiCi's for pizza.  It was a great time.  I have the greatest kids in the world.
